IMO Its was new years or christmas theme? There wasn't any fireworks or celebrating theme in winners works... (at least i hoped to see some BUNNIES!!11!!1, fireworks and celebrating - smth orginal, wth where are they? none put them. shiz, no way, an begginer gfx art and LQ won first places, they even didn't dressed and didn't any make up on the model, oh well gratz to all winners PS: realy didnt though themeless art will win there first places, I see way better and orginal works below :* ) as I though a "russian christmas" will win this contest, because they was yesterday.
Anyway gratz all winners and every parcipicant for they  awesome work, good job everyone! bye.

yea, every work can be done in max 30 minutes,
dressing up a char is harder than remake a background, make some effects etc, and I bet that many people gave up cuz they said in thier mind that its hard to make a nicely dressed char and there will be some1 who will do it perfectly...

It's a contest, not children's crafts exhibition - we judge the result, not the work that was done.
However much work is done - it must look nice in it's wholeness. You can make a picture beautiful with one stroke or ugly with hundred ones.
Sure, the winners' entries are not pretentious, but they do look nice.
